Give blood

Donating blood is easy and increasingly necessary with the shortage of supply in American blood banks. A single donation can help save three lives, according to the American Red Cross. You can find your local Red Cross by calling 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or using the online directory.

Call 1-888-BLOOD-88 to find the local chapter of America's Blood Centers, another blood donation organization.

Donating blood can be a regular activity. You are eligible to donate blood every eight weeks.
