The Foundation Finder provides basic information on more than 59,000 private and community foundations in the United States. Direct corporate giving programs and public charities are not included in this database. The information, which the Foundation Center culls from IRS returns, annual reports and questionnaires, may include:
- Legal name
- Location and contact information
- Type (company-sponsored, independent, etc.)
- Web site address
- Accounting period
- Total assets
- Total giving
- Employer Identification Numbers (EIN)
- Recent IRS filings
