Action Against Hunger is an organization with one mission: to save lives by eliminating hunger. Since 1979, they have aimed to prevent and treat malnutrition, especially in circumstances of war or natural disaster; thus, the organization has brought knowledge of nutrition, food security and sanitation around the globe to launch field programs to end hunger. They distribute food, safe drinking water and tools for food production, and they also provide medical attention to diseases associated with malnutrition. In addition, they advocate for policy changes that will reduce hunger. In Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the organization convinced the governments to adopt their protocols for treating malnutrition.
