Volunteering Opportunities

Face it: There are thousands of nonprofit organizations in the United States alone. And every one of them needs help. Whatever time you can give makes a difference -- no effort is too small. The key is finding the organization that fits your interests. The following sites should help with your search.

General Resources

These online agencies match potential volunteers with opportunities in your zip code.

  • USAService.org
Website launched by the Obama Administration that allows volunteers to sign up and receive email updates about area service projects or search for events by state or zip code.

  • VolunteerMatch
Choose opportunities by location and time commitment.

  • Idealist.org
With thousands of volunteer opportunities listed, you're sure to find one that suits you.

  • SERVEnet
Enter your zip code and get information about volunteer opportunities in your area.
